Bill Text - 111th Congress (2009-2010) - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

Livable Communities Act of 2009

What sounds innocuous enough seems like a awfully big reach for the Feds who have not been able to plan for anything but debt and perpetual war.

Opponents of this bill keep referring to Agenda 21, the UN Sustainable Development plan. And why would people in America be so concerned with a UN mandate with global reach to manage the development of land and natural resource at a local level.

The point is when the Federal Government is completely indebted and ethically bankrupt why should localities have to follow its directives including the management of local resources.

What if the Feds desire to manage the resources of the country to leverage and sell them off to the USGs creditors, foreign nations and private interests alike.

If anyone in Washington was concerned about sustainable development, we would start a Manhattan Project for Nuclear Fusion and begin the withdrawal of our military from fossil fuel supply lines and reserves throughout the world. Until then this 'sustainable development' is about centralized control and not the environmentalism.
